Amazing Event in Nelson
Here are some photos from the human formation event at lakeside soccer field this afternoon, with Benjamin Jordan: (from the Capitol Theatre promo for his film shown Friday evening- which was great!)
Local aerial photographer, Benjamin Jordan, will capture the first ever West Kootenay Community Formation and would like to extend a personal invitation to Nelson residents to be part in this event. This March marks the launch of his Above + Beyond Kootenays initiative which connects his local fundraising efforts to the local youth camp, Tipi Camp. Other fundraising events include a month-long photography gallery at Oso Negro cafe and the Canadian Premier of his cross-Canada paragliding documentary film DREAM at the Capitol, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. ($10 Adults, $5 Children, Tickets at Otter Books) The photograph will be made up of 300-plus community members connecting in the shape of a river flowing through mountains and is intended to serve as a reminder of the power of our community and the love we share for our environment. It will be sold online and at local stores afterwards to raise funds to send West Kootenay children from low-income homes to Tipi Camp, a remote access nature camp on the East Shore which focuses on wilderness immersion for self esteem.
